Anoushka Shankar is an British and American sitar player. She also performs music. She was among the youngest and first female to win the British House of Commons Shield she's received 9 Grammy Awards nominations and was the first artist of Indian origin to play live in concert and act as a host at the ceremony. Anoushka Shankar is an emerging young star of sitar music. Indian sitar. She is a student as well as granddaughter of legendary Ravi Shankar. She was born in 1982 in London. Her early years were spent in London and New Delhi. When she arrived in New Delhi, she made her debut at just thirteen years of age. In the following years, in Encinitas CA she attended high school. She graduated with distinction in the year 1999. While she's still young, Anouskha has an impressive performing and recording. She frequently joins her father on stage, which she's done for a number of years. She released her debut solo album Anourag in the year 1998. It was followed by Live at Carnegie Hall, a Grammy-nominated album a year after. Her stage career is very vast as she has been in every one of the major stages in the world.
